QR access control for your gym

With Kaizer for Gyms your members check in by showing the QR code in their app, and the front desk scans it with a phone or computer camera. Kaizer confirms the person is still a member, records the visit with date and time and shows their classes for the day. Included from USD 49 a month.

Updated:

How it works at the door

No new turnstiles or readers: the phone camera you already have at the front desk is enough.

  1. 01

The member shows their QR code

Once the gym turns check-in on, the QR code appears in every member's app. It expires and renews from the app, so an old screenshot will not get anyone in.

  2. 02

    The front desk scans it

The camera opens full screen, designed for the phone at the door. It pauses after every read so the same code is not recorded twice.

  3. 03

    Kaizer validates before recording

If the person is no longer a member, the code belongs to another gym or it has expired, the visit is not recorded and the front desk sees why.

  4. 04

    Today's classes show up

After check-in you see the member's classes for the day, booked or not, and can mark them present or absent without leaving the scanner.

  5. 05

    No phone, by hand

For members who arrive without their phone, the front desk finds them in the list and records a manual check-in.

  6. 06

    Visit history

Every visit is stored with date, time and method, QR or manual, and the history filters by day and by member.

How you turn it on

  1. Step 01

    An admin turns check-in on

From the gym's settings. It ships off: you turn it on once you have something to scan with at the door.

  2. Step 02

    The Check-ins section appears

In the panel menu, with the history and the Scan QR button. Admins and coaches both use it.

  3. Step 03

    Members see their QR code

The button appears in every member's app, and from then on they check in by showing it.

What it does not do

  • Kaizer does not sell or install turnstiles, readers or cameras: the QR code is scanned with a phone or computer.
  • Kaizer does not integrate with biometrics, facial recognition or turnstiles today: check-ins are recorded with the app's QR code or by hand.
  • Validation is about membership: it confirms the person is still a member of the gym. Dues status is tracked separately, in Payments.
  • Check-in ships off: until an admin turns it on, your members do not see the QR code in the app.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a reader or a turnstile to use the QR code?

No. The front desk scans the QR code with a phone or computer camera, from Kaizer.

What if a member forgets their phone?

The front desk finds them in the member list and records the visit by hand. It shows in the history as a manual check-in.

Does Kaizer work with biometrics or facial recognition?

Not yet. Kaizer does not integrate with biometric or facial recognition readers or with turnstiles today: check-in is by the app's QR code or by hand, with no extra equipment.

Can someone get in with a screenshot of the code?

The code expires, so an old screenshot is rejected and the front desk sees the warning. The member refreshes it in the app and shows it again.

How much does access control cost?

It is included on every plan: USD 49 a month for up to 50 members, USD 129 for up to 250 and USD 199 for up to 1,000.
